Urbasa y Andía Natural Park
Urbasa y Andía Natural Park
The Urbasa y Andía Natural Park is a natural space endowed with a wide range of geological, biological, ecological, landscape, archaeological and socio-cultural values.
Millions of years ago the relief of a large plateau known as Zunbeltz or Lizarraga changed forever. A gigantic tectonic subsidence occurred that caused the opening of a large corridor between the well-known Urbasa and Andía mountain ranges.
This is how the current Urbasa-Andía Natural Park was created, which is located to the west of Navarra. At kilometer 20, a few meters from the road, there is a Roman road, a thousand-year-old witness of a time when it was used to link Valdega with the Arakil Valley.
